In December 2024, Chemlink and Addi-Tec became Harke UK & Ireland. A move that opened up the company to new divisions, such as: Basechem, Agrochem, and Food. This move has unified our team, and enhanced the presence of the HARKE GROUP across Europe.
The original founding companies of the Chemlink Group, Chemlink Specialities & Addi-Tec, were acquired by the HARKE GROUP based in Mülheim, Germany.
In 2012 the offices of Chemlink Specialities and Addi-Tec moved to their current location on Station Road, Urmston Manchester. Originally named Gladstone House, the building was re-named in memory of the company founder Peter Minister in 2018.
Addi-Tec was formed as a sister company within the Chemlink Group, offering specialist additives to the polymers, paints & coatings markets.
Founded by Peter Minister, the person for whom our office building is named, Chemlink Specialities was set up to be a specialty distributor, covering the UK & EIRE. Peter Minister wanted to offer a different level of service as a distributor, and quickly set up a formulation lab at the company's original premises in Carrington Business Park, Manchester.
Chemlink Specialities was originally developed as a niche distributor, specialising in eco-friendly and naturally derived ingredients for the Personal Care and HI&I markets.
Our Team of Experts
Our team of experts consist of a variety of specialist professionals working at locations across the UK, briefly comprising:
- A technical team based at our labs in Manchester, utilising over 50 years’ combined experience to offer formulation development, provide testing and regulatory advice.
- A technical sales team of 12 covering the UK and Ireland, all coming from technical chemistry backgrounds, specilising in their own disciplines.
- Our warehouse team based in Halifax offering UK-based distribution for fast order turnaround times.
- All supported by our head office team who handle enquiries, logistics, accounts, IT and supply chain.
