The Repel-O-Tex® range
Repel-O-Tex® is a range of soil release polymers by Solvay. These high-tech polymers help boost the performance of laundry detergents, reducing the interactions between fabric fibres and soils to tackle greasy residue and stains. These ingredients are specially formulated for synthetic fibres, making garments more hydrophilic to allow for better penetration of water and active ingredients leading to better cleaning results and material maintenance, as well as, long term soil protection.
There are four central products in the Repel-O-Tex® range created in different formulations to meet the needs of any consumer.

Repel-O-Tex® Crystal NAT: The new natural laundry ingredient from Solvay
Recent trends have seen natural home care products rise in the ranks among consumers, with many looking for more eco-friendly products and a willingness to reduce the number of chemicals they use within the home. Repel-O-Tex® Crystal NAT from Solvay has been launched to meet the needs of the eco-conscious household and provide a more sustainable laundry care solution.
Repel-O-Tex Crystal NAT®: For more sustainable laundry care
The latest addition to the Repel-O-Tex® line is derived from sugar cane and has a renewal carbon index of 73%, providing a sustainable and readily biodegradable ingredient for those looking for natural fabric care. Crystal NAT has been designed to work with other natural ingredients, making >99% natural liquid detergents possible without compromising on the level of performance.
High-performance natural polymer
Repel-O-Tex® Crystal NAT has been shown to be compatible with colder temperatures, providing the same level of performance at just 20°C. Tests also showed that it was just as effective at removing greasy soil and stains while using less surfactant, maintaining the detergency of laundry care products but with the added benefits of fewer chemicals.
This new ingredient also helps to reduce the development of malodor in fabrics, allowing customers to wear garments over and over without the fear of smell or stains. In fact, tests showed that Crystal NAT reduces sebum adhesion on synthetic fabrics and significantly reduces malodor.
